PTE Field Engineer
This position is based in our Boise, ID or Vancouver, WA POWER Engineers office supporting utility and industrial clients across the Western United States.
Position requires up to 85% travel.

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform testing and commissioning of apparatus, protection and control systems on high voltage substations
Support and perform on site hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150.
Support and perform on site hands on apparatus inspection and testing of circuit breakers, transformers and instrumentation transformers
Technical and Safety Development
Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projects
Accurately document test results and produce field reports on requested format
Read and understand electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Perform clerical responsibilities such as time cards, expense reports and project reports.
Required Education/Experience:
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferably electrical, or electrical technology
Good interpersonal, written and oral, communication skills
Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills, and ability to perform mathematical calculations, working knowledge of computer systems and microprocessor or relay software and project environment skills
Administrative software: MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experienced in managing electrical drawings
Valid drivers license
Ability to meet minimum insurability standards based on a Motor Vehicle Report
Ability to pass drug and alcohol test
Ability to pass seven (7) year background check
Desired Education/Experience:
NICET or NETA II/III certification
Demonstrable expertise on transmission, generation and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, and GE families) and protective schemes.
Demonstrable knowledge of electrical apparatus fundamentals
Technical Software for testing purposes and data review: ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe and AcSELerator Quickset.

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $50,000- $75,000.00 per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
