SUS Entry-Level Engineer

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers' Small Utilities (SUS) Department is currently seeking an Entry Level Engineer to work in our Tyler, TX office. The qualified candidate will perform substation design, as well as a variety of other tasks as assigned by our electrical utility clients. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Substation, transmission and distribution design, which includes physical design, electrical design, relaying and grounding

  • System relaying and protection, which includes station relaying, transmission line relaying and distribution coordination studies

  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team setting

Required Education/Experience

  • BSEE, BSEET, BSCE, or Industrial Distribution degree from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

  • Must have a strong base knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles

  • Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education/Experience

  • Internship or co-op experience with utility or industrial facility

  • Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

  • Milsoft experience
