Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines)

POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer to work in its Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Syracuse, New York office. For the first two weeks, the candidate will need to be in the office five days per week, then they can shift to hybrid with an average of two days in the office. They are welcome to do as many days in the office as desired but must be in the office for an average of two days per week. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.

Required Education/Experience

  • BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university

  • The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite

Desired Education/Experience

  • Minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA)

  • Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying

  • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable

  • Engineer In Training (EIT) registration is desired

DOE Salary: The pay range for this position is $68-$75K; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
