Power Engineers Distribution Drafter in Syracuse, New York

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Drafter for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Syracuse, New York office. The position will work with designers and engineers to produce OH/UG Electrical Utility plan drawings using CAD and/or GIS software. The successful candidate will use knowledge of client and national electrical utility codes to complete construction drawings for turn-key design packages.
Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate and collaborate with designers and engineers to produce OH/UG utility plan drawings using CAD and/or GIS software
Review drawings for consistency following current quality assurance processes and establishing new processes where none exist
Conduct field surveys using digital collection instruments and take detailed sketches/notes to obtain required design data
Draft detail specifications for distribution equipment while adhering to client design standards and industry codes
Analyze NESC codes or utility design standards for application to design
Sufficient industry experience and the ability to demonstrate comprehension of the following CAD software platforms:
Ability to work with other designers and engineers in a team environment
Strong written and oral communications skills
Active learning and listening
Outstanding time management skills
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Associate degree in an accredited program
Understanding of MicroStation
Familiarity with Inventor and/or Solidworks
Ability to travel for project meetings and field review
