Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Entry or Junior Level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Underground Line Department in our St. Louis, Missouri office. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be supporting project engineers and lead designers with underground transmission line design activities; including routing studies, design calculations, pulling calculations, plan & profiles, detailed drawings, writing of construction specifications, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy and the ability to learn new computer software efficiently
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry
Electrical majors - transmission engineering course work and a power emphasis would be a plus
Civil majors - structural or geotechnical engineering course work emphasis would be a plus
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks
Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial
Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus
EIT registration and a desire to obtain a professional engineering license are qualifications that will be strongly considered for this position
