Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking an experienced Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our San Diego, California office. Responsibilities
The position involves drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge and assisting others with understanding and following standards; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; and mentor/direct those with less experience.
Managing client drawing check-out and check-in process, including email communication with client.
Associates degree in drafting.
4 years experience drafting with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
8 years experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment.
Experience with CAD Overlay and MicroStation IRAS B.
Familiarity with Raster Design and/or Bentley Descartes.
Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial.
Knowledge of substation equipment.
3D CAD experience is a plus.
Good background in mathematics.
Experience working with scaled drawings.
