Mid-Level Civil Engineer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer to join our team. Our group specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future in energy, utilities, and industrial facility design. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects together with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike. You’ll be asked to help grading and drainage design for new sites as well as provide utility delivery, access road design, permitting and construction support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of civil and environmental engineering projects:

  • AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling

  • Project design criteria

  • Storm water management calculations and modeling

  • Engineering drawings and specifications

  • Site layout, grading, and drainage designs and drawings

  • Bill of materials

  • Construction specifications

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to others

  • Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others

  • Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met

Required Education/Experience

  • BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university

  • Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and sanitary sewer design and analysis, grading, roadway and utility design, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience

  • Storm water management and hydraulic modeling software (Autodesk SSA, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.)

  • Zero to five (5) or more years' experience in civil site/design as outlined above

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) registration is required

  • Good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite

Desired Education/Experience

  • Professional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferred

  • Electric utility substation design experience is a plus

  • Managerial and leadership skills a plus
