POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in St. Louis, Missouri.
Roles and Responsibilities
The qualified candidate will:
Design of low to medium voltage distribution lines using CADD and client design software packages
Compile design packages for construction using design skills and techniques
Perform field inspections and gather measurements for electric facilities
Coordinate with their team and project leadership to meet scope, schedule, and budget for projects
Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
Be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks and learn the trade
Interact with clients, their customers, and other stakeholders such as DOTs, railroads, and cities
Provide technical guidance and mentorship
Perform quality reviews of project deliverables
Strong computer design skills, the ability to learn new software packages efficiently, and retain and apply on the job training
Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Some travel should be expected
A two-year technical certificate or degree is preferred but not required
General experience in the design, operation, and construction of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) and/or familiarity with construction processes
Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, etc.
Exposure to utility standards, NESC, and general construction knowledge and aptitude
