Geospatial Software Engineer
POWER Engineers is looking for a software developer interested in working on innovative next-generation geospatial solutions and integrations to support our clients in the electrical, gas, telco/fiber, and other utility markets worldwide.
The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full time at a location other than a POWER Engineers designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
GIS
5+ years of experience with ArcGIS Desktop/Pro
Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online
Functional knowledge of data management and geoprocessing
Software Development
5+ years of experience as a software developer using Visual Studio, .NET, C#, Python, and JavaScript
Experience in Web Application development including using ASP.Net, MVC, JavaScript frameworks such as React/Angular
Experience with database development with SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.
Development experience with Esri GIS solutions, SDKs, APIs, etc.
Experience in developing GIS web applications and widgets using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
Experience in Python scripting, arcpy, and ArcGIS Python-based tool development
Requires excellent communication and organizational skills
Requires excellent problem-solving skills
Requires strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules
Desired Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS (geography), or an equivalent degree or a combination of other educational qualifications and experience
The candidate should possess a solid understanding of basic computer science concepts, design patterns, architectural patterns and SDLC
Electrical, Gas, Water utility domain knowledge a plus
Experience with software lifecycle and source control, e.g., Microsoft’s Azure DevOps and Git repositories
Familiar with software development lifecycle methodologies
Experience with system integrations
Enterprise-level software development experience

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $80K-$100K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
