Geospatial Software Engineer

POWER Engineers is looking for a software developer interested in working on innovative next-generation geospatial solutions and integrations to support our clients in the electrical, gas, telco/fiber, and other utility markets worldwide.

The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full time at a location other than a POWER Engineers designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • GIS

  • 5+ years of experience with ArcGIS Desktop/Pro

  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online

  • Functional knowledge of data management and geoprocessing

  • Software Development

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer using Visual Studio, .NET, C#, Python, and JavaScript

  • Experience in Web Application development including using ASP.Net, MVC, JavaScript frameworks such as React/Angular

  • Experience with database development with SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.

  • Development experience with Esri GIS solutions, SDKs, APIs, etc.

  • Experience in developing GIS web applications and widgets using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript

  • Experience in Python scripting, arcpy, and ArcGIS Python-based tool development

  • Requires excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills

  • Requires strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS (geography), or an equivalent degree or a combination of other educational qualifications and experience

  • The candidate should possess a solid understanding of basic computer science concepts, design patterns, architectural patterns and SDLC

  • Electrical, Gas, Water utility domain knowledge a plus

  • Experience with software lifecycle and source control, e.g., Microsoft’s Azure DevOps and Git repositories

  • Familiar with software development lifecycle methodologies

  • Experience with system integrations

  • Enterprise-level software development experience

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $80K-$100K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
