POWER Engineers, Inc. - The End-User Computing Area Lead position is responsible for the management of day-to-day support, automation, security and maintenance activities across the end-user computing platforms, applications, and services. This position is also responsible for having the ability to advise and cross-train fellow end-user computing team members. The candidate will supervise the individual contributors within the team and lead efforts to collaborate with other POWER IT organizational departments such as Infrastructure, Application Services, and the Service Desk to implement, support, document, troubleshoot and monitor services.
This position is posted in Boise, Hailey, Portland and Seattle but, can work remotely from any location in the U.S. (Please note where you will be located in the application).
Provide supervision and leadership (approve time off, approve timesheets, and conduct performance reviews)
Coordinate and lead team meetings
Conduct End-User computing team resource planning
Assist with the professional and technical development of the team members
Assist with the development and execution of the departmental business plan
Assist with the management of the departmental budget
Provide periodic reports on team’s performance
Manage End-User Computing technologies’ day-to-day maintenance and operational tasks
Execute changes to established technologies in a manner that is consistent to the End-User Computing Engineering plan and\or guidance
Monitor and report on technologies and services
Hotfix and patch deployment in accordance with engineering's test and validation processes
Possess technical knowledge of the assigned technologies
Escalate to End-User Computing Engineering for break/fix support as needed
Perform Tier 3 support activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
2 to 3+ years leadership experience either managing or operating as technical lead for global end-user computing or infrastructure environments.
5 to 7+ years of combined experience engineering, implementing, and operating global end-user computing or infrastructure environments.
Experience working in large-scale end-user computing or infrastructure platforms, applications, automation, and security services implementations.
Demonstrated end-user computing or infrastructure support and administration experience including configuration, procurement, installation, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
Strong product, service, and vendor knowledge.
Knowledge of SLA, KPI’s, and forecasting (demand management).
Experience with system monitoring and automation within global environments.
Experience working with remote virtual teams.
Demonstrated leadership (vision and direction).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Specific Technology Expertise:
Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 10 and channel updates.
Advanced technical knowledge of end-user computing technologies such as, but not limited to:
End-User Applications – Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD.
End-User Automation – System Center Configuration Manager and/or Endpoint Manager, Orchestrator, Packaging, Scripting/PowerShell, OS Deployment, and AGPM (ADUC/GPO).
End-User Security – Client Patching, Client Disk Encryption, PKI, Anti-Virus, Proxy Services, MDM, User Access Control, Security Event Monitoring, and Multi-factor Authentication.
Citrix Technologies: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, NVidia GRID, NetScaler Application Delivery Controller.
Strong familiarity with network technologies: OSI layers 1 -7, Firewalls, Wireless, and Ethernet.
Virtualization Technologies both on-premises and cloud
High availability and Disaster Recovery practices and methodologies.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Excellent analytic, organization, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations.
Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel.
- ITIL v3 Foundations and\or other relevant certifications.
