Project Engineer – Federal Security Services

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to manage engineering projects in our Federal Security Services (FSS) department in our Government division. This position can be located in Boise, ID (preferred); Madison, WI; Plover, WI; or Washington, DC. The position may require possession of a TS/SCI clearance. Candidates not in possession of a TS/SCI security clearance may still be considered for hire but would need to agree to undergoing the security clearance process with the appropriate U.S. Government Agency, and if approved would be subject to a polygraph test as part of the clearance process.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to provide project engineering for design projects in the federal market. Mission-critical infrastructure design projects include back up power; UPS; critical HVAC design; MEP design; transmission and distribution; power production; system studies; renewable energy; and related projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Overarching engineering coordination across all POWER divisions

  • Providing technical guidance and review of all engineering disciplines

  • Assisting the Project Manager (PM) on the project to ensure compliance with the project requirements documents

  • Providing support and assistance to the FSS PM in fostering and managing client relationships

  • Marketing POWER’s cleared engineering capabilities to existing and new clients

The candidate must have a proven track record of successfully managing technical engineering services or related projects with demonstrated skills related to electrical and consulting engineering including:

  • Project engineering and managing technical project teams

  • Engineering problem-solving

  • Proposal writing and proposal presentations

  • An understanding of:

  • Federal clients and the intelligence community

  • Federal contracting, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation

  • CPM scheduling

Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel nationally and internationally, and work successfully in a fast-paced, customer-focused, project-oriented environment.

Required Education/Experience

  • BS degree in Engineering

  • Three (3) + years’ experience managing engineering projects

  • Ten (10) + years’ experience in engineering design development of construction documents

Desired Education/Experience

  • BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience providing project engineering support on federal projects

  • TS/SCI security clearance

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • PMP certification

  • Construction management or work in construction trade profession

  • Field experience working on a construction site or site-related engineering O&M role

  • Mission-critical infrastructure project experience including system studies, ICS, and SCADA related projects

  • Project management tools including but not limited to MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CPM software

  • CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation

  • Marketing, technical writing, and business planning
