POWER Engineers, Inc - Facilities Business Unit is growing and we are currently seeking a Mid to Senior Level Packaging Systems Engineer. Do you want to come home to Plover, Wisconsin? POWER Engineers has a path for you.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist our engineering team in the packaging environment to drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. You’ll exercise your knowledge of physical layout drawings, equipment and structural drawings, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Bid and Construction packages, to allow the development of equipment specifications, RFPs, and full packaging system designs.

Responsibilities will include directing and overseeing CAD deliverables, vendor coordination, equipment specification, mass balances, and other engineering deliverables. You’ll need strong mechanical reasoning skills, be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills and work with layouts in a 3D environment.

Required Education/Experience

  • BS in Applied Science, Engineering or appropriate technical field, preferred Mechanical

  • 5-10+ years relevant work experience

  • Excellent communication skills required, with proven client or customer interactions

  • Ability to travel (10-30%)

  • Responsible for leading and directing packaging project design and teams, including:

  • Developing and tracking packaging budget, schedule, and deliverables

  • Developing technical design criteria and design basis documents

  • Assisting in project proposal and budget preparation

  • Ability to communicate within the internal project team and with the external client team consistently and clearly by providing weekly internal project documentation, leading design team meetings and ensuring appropriate interdisciplinary project coordination

  • Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with clients

Desired Education/Experience

  • 3.2+ GPA

  • 10+ years relevant work experience

  • Consulting background

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D tools to visualize and review deliverables

  • Experience in design of food, beverage and personal care packaging systems and facilities, including packaging equipment, mechanical conveying and pneumatic conveying systems
