We are looking for the right person to fill our current Control System Designer opening in Plover, Wisconsin.
Your career at POWER will provide you with an opportunity to work on industrial control systems and continuous processing systems. You will utilize your expertise to help companies ranging from small startup firms to large multinational firms. You will have the opportunity to work on all phases of a project, from the initial concept through the installation and commissioning of new equipment control systems. Your unique skills will help our clients change and adapt their facilities and systems to meet the dynamic changes in their markets. The Facilities Division of POWER Engineers is a full-service consulting engineering firm that specializes and is a leader in Food & Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design.
Overall Tasks
Design electrical and control systems including:
Designs control systems based on sketches, Design lead input, and personal experience
Researches information on layouts by utilizing design-specific reference materials
Recognizes design gaps and provides excellent quality solutions for these gaps
Recognizes the technical needs of a project and act on those as needed
Coordinate and clarify code regulations, specifications, and other detailed design requirements into designs
Implement POWER and Client CAD project standards efficiently for each project that is assigned
Utilize various design software packages such as AutoCAD, Microstation, and others
Collaboration:
Develop a work plan to meet project requirements and communicate the plan effectively to others
Monitor work, budget, and schedules of others
Provide high-quality work that is completed to POWER Standards
Provides CAD project coordination
Customer & Vendor Site visits:
Customer site visits for data acquisition if required
Attend lunch and learn opportunities as they arise
Required Education/Experience
Associate degree in a related field
4+ years of current AutoCAD experience
4+ years of experience in the design and layout of electrical and control systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
Proven ability to work in cross-functional engineering and design team
Ability to travel if required
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Be available to work overtime as required
Desired Education/Experience
Detail-oriented in all work and focused on quality and accuracy
Excellent follow-through and coordination skills
Network understanding and design
Food and Beverage experience
Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines while meeting budgets
Ability to recognize the needs of clients, and respond accordingly
2+ years of utilizing industry CAD standards for layouts, PFDs and P&IDs
Working knowledge of the latest scanning hardware and software with experience integrating them into construction documents and CAD Models

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $55k - $65k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
