Accounting Associate

Roles and Responsibilities

The Accounting Associate (PMA) works closely with Project Managers in the financial management of projects. The ideal candidate will be able to interact with key members of the project team and has basic accounting knowledge. The PMA handles project financials including: project initiation, budgets, expenditure tracking, invoicing, status reports, purchase requisitions, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and so on. The PMA will also work with Project Managers on contracts, subcontracts, and change order documents.

Decision-making skills, ability to work in a team environment, following directions, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgment are required to successfully handle these responsibilities. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a client service attitude, as well as strong organization, communication, and document coordination skills.

Required Education/Experience

  • Three to four (3-4) years of related experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • Working knowledge of an ERP system

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Advance analytical skills

  • Willing to work both independently and as part of a team

Desired Education/Experience

  • Degree in business, accounting, or finance is preferred

  • Oracle ERP experience is preferred

  • Detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents is preferred
