Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mid Level Mechanical Piping Stress Analysis Engineer to work in our Generation Mechanical Department in our Overland Park, KS office.
Perform piping stress analysis of critical steam piping systems and other high temperature piping systems for combined cycle and coal fired power plants
Complete piping evaluations in accordance with ASME 31.1 Code requirements
Specify locations and types of pipe supports and restraints for critical piping systems and other high temperature piping systems
Apply sound and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience including experience in performing piping stress analysis of critical steam piping systems and other high temperature piping systems for combined cycle power plants
Experience using the CAESAR II software application for piping stress analysis
Experience in the system engineering of critical steam piping for combined cycle power plants
Experience designing pipe supports and restraints
Experience calculating local stresses for welded pipe attachments used with pipe supports
Experience using SmartPlant P&ID software application
Experience performing calculations to determine pipe sizes and evaluating equipment performance
Experience developing mechanical specifications and equipment data sheets
Experience performing bid evaluations for mechanical equipment
