Permit Coordinator/Distribution Drafter

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Permit Coordinator/Distribution Drafter for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Orlando, Florida office.

Roles and Responsibilities

The permit coordinator works with engineers and design staff to ensure permit applications contain all required items in order to avoid costly delays in the project process. In this role, the successful candidate will obtain documentation from relevant departments, draft permit documents and review for accuracy to ensure project paperwork is ready to submit to the reviewing agency for approval. This position will also include drafting responsibilities and be expected to work with electrical engineers and designers to develop utility construction packages from conception through construction. The successful candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills. Further, the candidate should be able to learn new software packages efficiently and retain and apply on the job training.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associate’s degree in an accredited program or have sufficient industry experience and the ability to demonstrate comprehension of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education/Experience

  • Strong understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) software with emphasis on AutoCAD and MicroStation

  • Permitting experience in an engineering/construction setting

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Some travel should be expected
