Permit Coordinator

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time Permit Coordinator for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Orlando, FL office.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Permit Coordinator works with engineers and design staff to ensure permit applications contain all required items. In this role, the successful candidate will obtain documentation from relevant departments, draft permit documents, and review for accuracy to ensure project paperwork is ready to submit to the reviewing agency for approval. This position will also include some drafting responsibilities and be expected to work alongside engineers and designers to support the development of utility construction packages. Some travel should be expected to perform fieldwork and staking, as needed to support design efforts. The successful candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills.

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma

  • Experience dealing with local municipalities or permitting agencies

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education/Experience

  • Associates degree is a plus, but not required

  • CAD or drafting experience

  • Permitting experience in an engineering/construction setting

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with different personalities
