Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

Seeking Mechanical Designers for Power Generation (Fossil /Geothermal) for our office in Oradell or Mount Laurel, New Jersey. This challenging position offers a competitive salary with exciting opportunities at a busy, employee owned engineering firm. Responsibilities include: Working in a team environment with minimal direction to develop equipment arrangements, piping design / layouts, 3D model creation, pipe supports and extracting of construction isometrics. Duties also include but not limited to: Equipment / piping design, layout and 3D modeling for a variety of systems, vendor submittal reviews, coordination and support with other engineering disciplines along with occasional field assignments. Development of deliverable drawings for general arrangements, equipment / piping and mechanical systems, reports, details, lists, clash resolution and other required design tasks for power generation facilities.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in Design and Drafting (or equivalent technical degree)

  • 5+ years design and drafting experience with AutoCAD, BricsCAD and or MicroStation

  • 3D modeling / piping design using Intergraph SmartPlant 3D plant design applications

Desired Experience

  • Knowledge of mechanical piping systems, design and layout

  • Deliverable experience with P&IDs, Isometrics, Orthographic drawings, supports and associated details

  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1, Welding AWS D1.1 and other related industry codes

  • Power Plant / Refinery Field Experience a plus
