Generation Project Management - Area Lead

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • POWER Engineers Inc. is seeking a Generation Project Management Area Lead who is responsible for oversight of the project management staff in POWER’s Oradell and Mt. Laurel New Jersey offices. This individual will manage a team of Project Managers and Project Engineers in addition to acting as the responsible Project Manager for projects. Travel will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project Manager on design of Power Generation projects

  • Managing large Lump Sum Generation Projects

  • Managing support services as the Project Manager including scheduling, estimating and procurement for multi-discipline projects

  • Project Proposal and budget development

  • Manage all financial and technical aspects of performance for the team

  • Business Development

  • Building and Maintaining Client Relationships

  • Implementation/oversight of POWER project management processes

  • Collaborate with Business Development team and manage business development efforts for the PM/PE team

  • Coordination with production departments for projects, projects staffing, and project processes

  • Area lead duties including:

  • Personnel Performance Reviews

  • Day to day oversight of a team of approximately 6 Project Managers and Project Engineers

  • Implementation/oversight of POWER project management processes

Required Education/Experience

  • B.Sc. in Engineering

  • 15 years of Project Management or Engineering experience in Generating Facilities

  • Experience managing a project team or a department

  • Experience filling the role of Project Manager for several projects occurring concurrently

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

Desired Education/Experience

  • PE License or PMP Certification
