Description
Consultant / Project Manager
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Consultant / Project Manager to join our Geospatial Asset Management (GAM) team. This position is posted in San Diego, Phoenix, Minneapolis, and Denver, but may not be tied to a specific POWER office. Please list your preferred location in the application questionnaire.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage a wide variety of projects for POWER’s utility clients
Provide consulting services as needed for our projects
Interact with clients
Provide high quality (and timely) written and oral communications both internally and with clients
Participate in business development activities as needed
Facilitate and support seamless interaction and cooperation among network of work groups/project teams
Interface with and support company Project Managers on proposals, project work, resource allocations and personnel
Participate in balancing workloads for team resources
Ensure the quality of project / program deliverables
Analyze project schedule and identify resource allocation
Up to 30% travel will be required
Required Education/Experience
Experience with utility operations including Distribution Operations, T&D Design/Maintenance, Engineering, Construction and Operations
Three (3) + years of project management experience
Five (5) + years of experience with Microsoft’s office suite, including Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules
Familiarity with the work processes of utilities
Project implementation lifecycle experience (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Training, and Deployment)
Experience with various software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
Desired Education/Experience
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server Object Extensions, ArcObjects, and ArcFM Solution
Experience with Schneider Electric’s ArcFM Product Suite
Experience with Schneider Electric’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
Experience with Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps
Experience with cloud (SaaS) strategy, data strategy, business intelligence, managed services, consulting staff management, and technical team management
Experience with Organizational Change Management Planning and Process Execution
Experience with Vendor Negotiations / Contracts
Experience with Stakeholder Management / Negotiation
