Project Control Manager

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Control Manager for our Power Delivery Project Services Southwest Region. The Project Control Manager is an integral member of the project team working closely with the Project Manager in the overall management of engineering projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Control Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating project tasks, under the direction of a Project Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Advanced understanding of complex projects and how they work, high levels of scheduling and cost knowledge, and can interact productively with key members of a project team with a variety of backgrounds

  • In-depth understanding of CPM scheduling and Earned Value Management

  • Advanced experience with Primavera P6 on engineering and construction projects

  • Identify work scope, technical sequencing, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Communicate with various project teams and internal work groups

  • Develop, maintain, and support energy delivery project schedules

  • Work with engineering managers to assure the schedule represents the execution plan

  • Report project progress to engineering leads and provide visibility to critical deliverables through regular meetings

  • Analyze contractor’s schedule submissions

  • Utilize look-ahead schedules to help manage the work

  • Prepare critical path, earned value, and schedule risk analysis

  • Prepare cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budget and cost-loaded schedules

  • Manage changes and keep teams aware of changes to the schedule

  • Update individual tasks and Project Performance Indicators as indicated on progress updates

  • Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and work independently

Required Education/Experience

  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management

  • Ten (10) + years of related professional experience

  • Proficient in Primavera P6

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience in large programs valued more than $100,000,000

  • Certification from AACE or PMI

  • Electrical utilities and power distribution experience

  • Oracle and MS Project knowledge
