POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Project Manager / Sr. Project Engineer / Client Liaison to work with our Government Services Business Unit. The position requires candidates who are licensed professional engineers in the electrical, mechanical or controls disciplines, or licensed architects. Candidates who have obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are preferred. The successful candidate must be located in Hawaii and based out of our existing offices in Hilo or Honolulu.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of a Prime Engineering team engaged in engineering design projects in the Government market including mission critical infrastructure design to include power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, critical HVAC design, MEP design, and related projects.
Responsibilities include managing and leading design teams including subconsultants, working with federal clients on energy and infrastructure projects, and marketing all of POWER’s energy services to existing and new government clients. The Sr. Project Manager / Sr. Project Engineer / Client Liaison will be challenged with managing multiple large and small projects simultaneously as well as serving as a liaison to our clients on Oahu and throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
The successful candidate must have a deep technical engineering skill set and experience leading design teams and interfacing with federal clients. Required skills include:
Thorough knowledge of Government Clients and Department of Defense Projects
Understanding of the Federal Contracting, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation
Developing detailed federal proposals and presentations
Leading and managing technical project teams
Managing project Scope, Schedule and Budget
Budget and cost analysis—understanding Key Performance Indicators for projects
Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel domestically and internationally, and must work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
Experience managing federal clients
BS degree in Engineering or Architecture (Electrical Engineering Preferred)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Architect (RA)
Fifteen (15) or more years experience managing engineering or architecture projects
Minimum of five (5) years experience managing projects for DoD clients
Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
Field experience working on a construction site or site related engineering O&M role
Demonstrated experience with the successful execution of design-build (DB) and design-bid-build (DBB) execution of interdisciplinary design projects for US Government clients
Experience with mission critical infrastructure projects including system studies, Industrial Controls, and SCADA related projects
Experience with project management tools including but not limited, MS Project, Excel, Word, Power-Point, Deltek, and CRM software
Experience with using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation
Experience with marketing, technical writing and business planning
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
