Project Accountant

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant for our Fort Worth, TX office.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Accountant (PMA) works closely with Project Managers in the financial management of projects. The ideal candidate has intermediate to advanced accounting knowledge and is able to interact with key members of the project team. Specifically, the PMA handles everything involving the financial side of the project including, project initiation, budgets, expenditure tracking, invoicing, status reports, management of unbilled costs, purchase requisitions, percent complete updates, accounts receivable, etc. The individual will also work with Project Managers on contracts, subcontracts, and change order documents.

Decision-making skills, the ability to work in a team environment, taking initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgment are required to successfully handle these responsibilities. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a client service attitude, as well as strong organization, communication, and document coordination skills.

Required Education/Experience

  • Five (5) + years of related experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel is required

  • Working knowledge of an ERP system

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Advanced analytical skills

  • Willing to work both independently and as part of a team

Desired Education/Experience

  • A degree in business, accounting, or finance is desired

  • Power Business Intelligence (BI) experience is desired

  • Knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
