POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Designer to work in the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in ourFreeport, MEoffice.

  • Beginner to moderate understanding of transmission line construction procedures, specifications, and material procurement

  • Develop working knowledge of Industry and Client/Power Standards and Compliance

  • Job requirements are to assist project team in the development of the following project requirements:

  • Construction Specifications

  • Construction Drawings

  • Project Estimates and Schedules

  • Bills of Material

  • Hardware Assemblies

  • Structure Details and Loadings

  • Other Engineering Design Deliverables

  • Quality and Efficiency

  • Adhere to POWER’s QA/QC procedure requiring accountability to enhance the project team’s success

  • Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget

  • Participate in dialogue with project teams, ensuring project expectations are understood prior to task execution

  • Participate in weekly resource meetings to discuss upcoming project requirements and approach to be used to complete objectives

  • Coordinate with project teams on product delivery status in relationship to required due date

  • Clear communication of work schedule with project teams to provide confidence that project expectations will be met

  • Willingness to coordinate with other team members to meet project needs

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in applicable technical discipline or equivalent experience

  • AutoCAD 2010-2016 experience

  • Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs

  • Willing and able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members

Desired Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years of technical design experience

  • Recent experience using Microstation (V8 or newer) a plus

  • Familiarity with Raster Design, and/or Bentley Descartes

  • Good background in mathematics

  • Experience working with scales

  • Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems a plus
