POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specialize in the areas of air, water, waste, environmental planning, ecological and cultural resources throughout our 45+ offices located across the country and internationally.
We are seeking an Environmental Planner for our Eastern Environmental Services PM Group and to join our 250 + person environmental team. This position will be based out of our Foxborough, MA office and will serve as staff dedicated to a leading New England utility company in Providence, RI. This is a full-time, salaried position that comes with a great benefits package.
Roles and Responsibilities
This person will implement the following duties:
Assist senior staff in energy infrastructure licensing and permitting studies
Research federal, state, and municipal permitting requirements
Providing technical and regulatory guidance, support, and coaching to share knowledge and develop understanding of environmental requirements.
Managing consultants and contractors in securing necessary permits and approvals, as well as during project monitoring to support construction activities.
Enter environmental data into company databases in support of the Environmental Department. This can include reports and analytical data.
Support company compliance submittals, including SARA Tier 2, PCB ADL, Biennial report, and other required reports.
Participate in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetings
Participate in public open house meetings and regulatory hearings
Perform duties at client office located in Providence, RI
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography or related degree
Minimum three (3) years of professional experience
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental policy and regulation in New England
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
Ability to travel, up to 25% of the time for site visits and client meetings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
An advanced graduate-level degree is a plus
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental licensing & permitting regulations to facilitate utility infrastructure projects in Rhode Island
Experience with Rhode Island EFSB is a plus
