Business Systems Analyst

POWER Engineers, Inc., one of the nation’s strongest energy-related engineering and environmental consultants, is currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our growing Geospatial Asset Management team (GAM) in our Denver, CO office.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to help our Electric, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications Utility clients improve their businesses through the use of innovative software solutions

  • Help document our clients’ current business processes and requirements so that they can then be used to design new software solutions

  • Assist in the design, installation, configuration, development and deployment of software solutions, especially those centered on Geographic Information Systems

  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Grow with experience to assume more direct responsibility in supporting clients

  • Travel in excess of 25%

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, GIS, Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar degree

  • Must have an ability to learn and apply new skills quickly

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must display a natural talent for discovering how things work, troubleshooting and resolving issues

Desired Education/Experience

  • An understanding of general database concepts

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language and programming concepts

  • Knowledge of and/or desire to learn GIS software fundamentals

  • Some familiarity with Electric, Gas, or Water utility operations
