Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
The Project Accountant II (PMA) works closely with Project Managers in the financial management of projects. The ideal candidate has basic accounting knowledge and can interact with key members of the project team. Specifically, the PMA handles everything involving the financial side of the project including, project initiation, budgets, expenditure tracking, invoicing, status reports, management of unbilled costs, purchase requisitions, percent complete updates, accounts receivable, etc. The individual will also work with Project Managers on contracts, subcontracts, and change order documents.
Decision-making skills, the ability to work in a team environment, follow directions, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgment are required to successfully handle these responsibilities. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a client service attitude, as well as strong organization, communication, and document coordination skills.
· Five (5) + years of related experience
· A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel is required
· Strong communication and writing skills
· Intermediate analytical skills
· Willing to work both independently and as part of a team
· A degree in business, accounting, or finance
· Working knowledge of an ERP system
· Power Business Intelligence (BI) experience is desired
· Knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
