Staff Assistant

Job Summary or Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is seeking a Staff Assistant to work in our Generation Business Unit in our Boise or Hailey, Idaho office to perform administrative tasks for engineering departments and projects. An ideal candidate would have at least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment, be familiar with current engineering tools/programs/software, be able to manage time efficiently and work independently as part of a team. This position can be based in one of the locations listed with the opportunity to work in a hybrid workstyle setting, a combination of home and office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide general office administrative and clerical support to staff in our Generation Business Unit including, but not limited to:

  • Book and process travel expenses

  • Submit purchase order requests as needed

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, take meeting minutes, order and setup lunches

  • Assist in new employee orientation

  • Provide project control support including, but not limited to:

  • Prepare and send document transmittals

  • Process and quality check documents on incoming and outgoing transmittals

  • Review and/or format reports, specifications and other documents

  • Organize and maintain electronic files for project record

  • Work with multiple project team members on project deliverables

  • Support other administrative team members with tasks as needed

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in office or engineering support

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, & Outlook

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

  • Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and work independently

Desired Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in Business Administration and/or related field experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering support

  • Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Bluebeam and Microsoft Dynamics software
