Senior Audio Visual Systems Engineer

The Sr. Audio-Visual Systems Engineer position within the infrastructure team is responsible for the engineering and implementation of technical audio-visual, multi-media, and video services for conference rooms, conferences, training sessions, virtual events, and corporate events. This position requires advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining multimedia equipment such as video projectors & monitors, audio systems, meeting room systems, video cameras, and video conferencing equipment across multiple platforms such as but not limited to Microsoft Teams and Cisco WebEx. This position is responsible for developing the design and working with integrators for the build out and/or refresh all audio-visual projects including the production of technical project designs, drawings, budget, and delivery of services throughout POWER's offices. Additionally, this position will maintain the availability of equipment and audio-visual systems through monitoring and lifecycle management. This position is in Boise, ID with an in office/hybrid work environment.

This position requires the individual to have excellent soft skills such as communication, flexibility & creativity, and time management & organization. The individual must be able to easily interact with executives, senior leaders, clients, and production colleagues. This position must also be able to handle high volume situations and adapt to varying conditions during the course of in-person meetings, virtual, or hybrid events.

The Sr. Audio/Video Systems Engineer position should be the subject matter expert with the ability to advise and cross-train fellow administrators and individuals within the Audio/Visual team and assist individuals in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 support organizations. The individual will collaborate with POWER’s IT organizational departments such as Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure, Application Services, and the Service Desk to engineer, test, document, implement, support, and monitor audio-visual services.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, design and implement technical audio-visual, multi-media, and video services for the organization

  • Schedule and implement changes to established technologies.

  • Ensure that technologies are meeting their performance and quality SLAs.

  • Possess advanced technical knowledge of the assigned technologies and transferring this knowledge to other Audio-Visual team members and/or IT Support Services either by identifying required training or transferring knowledge via person-to-person instruction.

  • Test and validate, hotfixes or patches before they are implemented on production systems using the documented Change Management process.

  • Lead business continuity and capacity planning meetings for the audio-visual department.

  • Escalate to vendors for break/fix support.

  • Perform Tier 4 engineering & support activities.

  • Travel as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5 to 8+ years of combined experience engineering, administering and operating audio-video platforms and systems.

  • Demonstrated audio-visual engineering, support and administration experience: including configuration, procurement, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting and lifecycle management.

  • Strong product, service, and vendor knowledge.

  • Experience with system monitoring and automation within global environments.

  • Experience working with IT Support or IT Operational teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio.
