Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented mechanical or chemical engineering student for a summer internship. Under the guidance of experienced designers & engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in many of the aspects of food facility design. Most of the work will be concerning the design of food and beverage processing lines. Responsibilities will include and emphasis on CAD drafting with some vendor coordination, equipment specification, mass balances, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The position may also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards, assisting senior designers & engineers with QA/QC design checks and assisting senior engineers with their design efforts.

Required Education/Experience

  • Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an accredited university

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

Desired Education/Experience

  • Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and food and beverage systems design.

  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks.

  • Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, Aspen Plus, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
