Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is currently seeking an entry level Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise, Idaho office. Responsibilities

  • The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree), may be in progress.

  • Experience using AutoCAD 2000 and/or newer versions.

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.

  • Candidates need to live within commuting distance of our Boise office (located in Meridian, ID).

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Some experience drafting with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferably in an engineering work environment.

  • Experience with CAD Raster Design and MicroStation Descartes.

  • Knowledge of Substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial.

  • Good background in mathematics.

  • Experience working with scaled drawings.
