POWER Engineers, Inc. - Information Technology End-User Computing Department has an immediate opening for anEnd-User ComputingEngineer reporting to theEnd-User Computing Engineering and SupportManager. TheEnd-User ComputingEngineer position is responsible for automation, engineering, implementing, and supportingend-user computing platforms, applications, automation and security services. This position requires advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience with the Windows desktop operating systems, Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler ADC, XenServer, NVidia GRID, MCS, PVS, and StoreFront Services. Additionally, this person should have a strong background in Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager and/or Endpoint Manager. Knowledge of virtualizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools is highly desired such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, and Inventor. This position is also responsible for providing active and engaged leadership within theEnd-User Computing Engineering and Supportgroup including subject matter expertise and ability to advise and cross-train fellow engineers and individuals within the Tier 1 and Tier 2 support organizations. Will collaborate with POWER’s IT organizational departments such as Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering and Back-Office Support, Application Services, and the Service Desk to engineer, test, document, implement, support, and monitor in concert with the infrastructure architecture roadmap for the enterprise.
Engineer and implement systems from Enterprise Architecture provided standards, designs, and architectural roadmaps.
Schedule and implement changes to established technologies.
Ensure that technologies are meeting their performance and quality SLAs.
Possess advanced technical knowledge of the assigned technologies, and transferring this knowledge to IT Operations either by identifying required training, or transferring knowledge via person-to-person instruction.
Test and validate, hotfixes or patches before they are implemented on production systems using the documented Change Management process.
Escalate to vendors for break/fix support.
Perform Tier 3 support activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree.
5 to 7+ years of combined experience engineering, implementing and operating globalend-user computing environments including:end-user computing platforms, applications, automation and security services.
Demonstrated project experience with large-scaleend-user computing platforms, applications, automation and securityservices implementations.
Demonstrated end-user computing support and administration experience: including configuration, procurement, installation, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
Strong product, service, and vendor knowledge.
Knowledge of SLA, KPI’s, and forecasting (demand management).
Experience with system monitoring and automation within global environments.
Experience working with onshore and offshore teams.
Experience working with insourced and outsourced IT Operations.
Demonstrated leadership (vision and direction).
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio.
Specific Technology Expertise:
Citrix Technologies:Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, XenServer, NVidia GRID, NetScaler ADC and StoreFront Services.
Operating Systems:Microsoft Windows7/8/10.
Advanced technical knowledge ofend-user computing technologiessuch as, but not limited to:
End-User Automation – System Center Configuration Manager and/or Endpoint Manager, Orchestrator, Packaging, Scripting/PowerShell, OS Deployment, and AGPM (ADUC/GPO).
End-User Security – Client Patching, Client Disk Encryption, PKI, Anti-Virus, Proxy Services, MDM, User Access Control, Security Event Monitoring, and Multi-factor Authentication.
Strong familiarity with network technologies: OSI layers 1 -7, Firewalls, Wireless, and Ethernet.
Virtualization Technologies: VMware vSphere, ESXi, and Horizon.
High availability and Disaster Recovery.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Excellent analytic, organization, presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations.
Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel.
Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCE-V) and/or Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA).
Virtualization with Computer Aided Design and/or Computer Aided Engineering
MCSE or equivalent.
ITIL v3 Foundations and\or other relevant certifications.
