Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Drafter to provide additional support in our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Boise, Idaho office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting and coordinating the following:

Transmission Line Theory and Application
Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain a transmission line understanding beyond just the redline mark-ups.
Participate in both internal and external training to improve professional growth while aiding in the knowledge transfer discussion with colleagues.
AutoCAD and MircoStation
Develop working knowledge of Client/Power CAD Standards and Compliance.
Proficient in the two operating plat forms leading to the development of the following project required drawings:
Plan and Profiles
Structure Assembly Drawings
Permit and Crossing Drawings
Load and Design Drawings
Quality and Efficiency
Adhere to POWER’s QA/QC procedure requiring upmost personal accountability to enhance the project team’s success.
Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget.
Participate in open dialogue with project teams, ensuring project expectations are understood prior to task execution.
Work Load Balance
Participate in weekly resource meetings, providing an opportunity to discuss upcoming project requirements and approach to be used to complete objectives.
Coordinate with project teams on product delivery status in relationship to required due date.
Clear communication of work schedule with project teams to provide confidence that project expectations will be met.
Willingness to coordinate with other team members to meet project needs.
Pass POWER’s internal Drafting Examination
Associates degree or 1-year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
AutoCAD 2010-2016 experience
Adobe PDF creation
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Time management and organizational skills are essential
Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs
Must be able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy
Able to read and interpret drawings and drawing mark-ups
Able to use architectural and engineering scale to read and create drawings
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
1-3 years drafting experience with AutoCAD
Experience with MicroStation is a plus
Knowledge of MS Office products
Good background in basic mathematics
Experience working with 3D drafting and detailing is a plus
Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus
Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus
Practical intern or utility industry experience is preferred
