Database Administrator

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to work in our Information Technology Applications Support and Development Department.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting Oracle/SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security

  • Responsible for problem escalation and start-to-finish resolution with end-users and vendors as appropriate

  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases including deployments and upgrades

  • Provide DBA support to multiple Oracle/SQL Server databases for multiple enterprise applications

  • Assist with reporting queries and design as needed

  • Some travel may be required

Required Education/Experience

  • Three (3) + years of DBA experience

  • Experience working with Oracle databases (11g and 12c)

  • Experience working with SQL Server databases (2012 or above)

  • PL/SQL database development experience (i.e., packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.)

  • Ability to work effectively with a distributed team

  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours for some database maintenance and upgrade tasks

  • Must be willing to learn new database, applications, and development skills

  • Must take strong self-initiative to solve problems and takes ownership of tasks

  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to take on responsibilities with very little supervision

Desired Education/Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience

  • Powershell scripting experience

  • Data warehouse experience
