Benefits Administrator

POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Benefits Administrator in our Boise or Hailey, ID office. The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company US Health and Welfare programs for employees and eligible dependents. This position is responsible for the monthly review and maintenance of the benefits records and related payment processing. The Benefits Administrator assists in monitoring employee questions and service needs and maintaining the Benefit Department’s timely and accurate responses (within 24 hours). This role also provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefit programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of Benefits team members

  • Provide mentoring and leadership for the Benefits department

  • Facilitate regular team meetings

  • Promote excellent customer service within the team

  • Assist with the development and execution of the department business plan

  • This position functions as a US and Canadian liaison between plan administrators and members while advising members on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits matters

  • Knowledge of Canadian benefits is a plus

  • Partner with the Benefits Coordinator conduct weekly new-hire orientations and develop and manage new-hire materials

  • Perform and monitor daily benefit processing (enrollments, COBRA, terminations, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDRO’s, QMCSO’s, distributions, loans, hardships, compliance testing, and employee benefit files maintenance)

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and communication of group benefit programs such as; group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plans and 401(k) plans for all company employees

  • Oversee benefit and wellness events for individual office or company-wide dissemination

  • As part of the Benefits team, coordinate, design and present open enrollment presentations for new and existing employees at designated company locations

  • Create communication pieces for employees explaining benefit services, events, and changes

  • By review of the Oracle Advanced Benefits module monitor and maintain an accurate database and ensure timely updates and data transmission to the Payroll Department for premium deductions

  • Provide benefit technical support, troubleshoot system problems, test system functionality, and work with end users to provide system support

  • Ensure timely compliance with government and other regulatory agencies reporting requirements.

  • Design and distribute electronic and hard copy materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions

  • Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates, and field staff

  • Assist in the implementation of benefit programs

  • Assist in the annual benefit plan renewal process

  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, human resource management or related field; or equivalent related work experience

  • Seven (7) years+ experience in benefits

  • Proficiency and competency in the use of Excel and Word programs

  • Ability to extract information from human resource information systems using reporting tools

  • Current knowledge of Health Care Reform and the related impacts (financial and practical-benefit design)

  • Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
