Job Title:Analytical Engineer, Power System Protection
Perform electrical studies for utility and industrial and commercial clients.
Analyze systems including conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, micro grids, and transmission and distribution systems.
Perform protective relaying including relay settings development, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, integration with SCADA systems, and arc flash analysis.
Conduct short circuit studies, symmetrical component analysis, and event analysis.
Conduct power system planning studies using steady-state real and reactive power flow including outage contingencies, P-V and Q-V analysis for voltage stability margins, dynamic stability performance.
Perform automation of large batch simulations, generation interconnect feasibility studies, micro grid and distributed generation-related studies.
Work with models from various NERC regional entities including WECC, MRO, and SERC and ensure NERC compliance.
Perform infrastructure design studies including substation grounding, power quality (harmonics, voltage flicker, over/under voltage), and motor starting, Corona, electric and magnetic fields, insulation coordination (lightning, switching surge, and contamination performance), transient (time domain) simulation, and AC interference (transmission line interaction with railroads and pipelines).
Perform infrastructure design studies using CDEGS, ATP-EMTP, PSCAD software.
Conduct power system planning studies using PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink, Python Scripting software.
Perform protective relaying using AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, Electroncon CAPE SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS software.
Provide technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects.
Degree Requirement:Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
Experience Required:3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified (passing Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) and eligible to sit for the Professional Engineering (PE) Exam.
Prior experience providingtechnical and commercial leadership in costumer focused engineering projects.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in performingprotective relaying using AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, Electroncon CAPE SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS software.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in conductingpower system planning studies using PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink, Python Scripting software.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience performinginfrastructure design studies using CDEGS, ATP-EMTP, PSCAD software.
Travel Requirements: Travel domestically up to 4 days per month.
Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week. Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
