Generation Project Engineer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

POWER Engineers Inc. Generation Division is seeking a Project Engineer who will be responsible for the technical oversight of our Generation projects. The qualified candidate will be based in one of our offices located in Atlanta, GA; Boise, ID; Hailey, ID; Overland Park, KS; Mount Laurel, NJ; or Oradell, NJ. A hybrid schedule will be offered, which means you’ll have the opportunity to work from both the office and the comfort of your own home. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing large Generation Projects for multiple disciplines

  • Managing support services as the Project Engineer including scheduling, estimating, and procurement for multi-discipline projects

  • Project Proposal and budget development

  • Manage all financial and technical aspects of performance for the project

  • Building and Maintaining Client Relationships

  • Implementation of POWER project engineering and quality control processes

  • Collaborate with our Business Development team and assist business development efforts for multiple projects

  • Coordination with production departments for projects, projects staffing, and project processes

  • Some travel will be required

Required Education/Experience

  • B.Sc. in Engineering

  • 15 years of Project Engineering experience in renewables, heavy industrial, and/or Generating Facilities

  • Experience in a wide range of power plant technologies is valued including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind, solar, gas-fired and/or coal

  • Experience managing a project team or a department

  • Experience filling the role of Project Engineer for several small/medium projects occurring concurrently

  • The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

Desired Education/Experience

  • PE License

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Excellent communication skills and team player

DOE Salary: The pay range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000 per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
