Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
Power Engineers, Inc. is seeking a mid- to senior-level Transmission Planning/Studies Engineer. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission/distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems, including: protective relay settings, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, power factor, and other related studies.
The level of this engineer requires an individual who has experience participating in the proposal writing process as well as enjoys customer contact to assist in bringing in new business to the company. This person must have a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills - including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.
Requires a BSEE
Ten (10) + years of experience in electrical engineering system studies
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including proposal writing, report writing, and other technical writing
Experience with PSSE or PSLF software packages, preferably both
Willing to travel (25% or more at times)
Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
Professional licensure: EIT (passing of the FE exam) or PE registration (or equivalent) is preferred
MSEE is preferred
